Michael Boyd has over 20 years of experience across the Oil and Gas industry, starting as an Electronic Technician at Oceaneering before progressing through Halliburton in roles spanning Workshop Technician, Field Engineer, and managerial positions in Repair & Maintenance, Business Development, and Account Management.
He joined Dolphin Drilling as an Assistant Rig Manager, later becoming Rig Manager for several years. He then transitioned into VP roles in Supply Chain and Marketing & Contracts, before moving into the role of Chief Commercial Officer. Now, Michael is the Chief Executive Officer, assuming the role in December 2025. His deep understanding of the industry and his proven track record in business development, contract negotiations, and strategic growth initiatives continue to underpin his leadership as he guides both Dolphin Drilling and the industry’s ongoing advancement.
Michael holds an Masters in Business Administration from The Open University and an MSc in Project Management from the University of Aberdeen.
